The what is a plot

10.9.2024

For too long of a time I try to come up with story for my next comic. It is way harder than it used to be, and way harder than I'd ever imagined. Every concept I've came up with I've realised was just bad and had I not lived in the digital age, my room would be full of crumbled paper. Well maybe in the end it's good thing I reject everything, else I could easily not realise it's horrible concept and work on it for months before I realise. For how high I've tried to raise the bar, my abilities as writer don't seem to hold up. Well hopefully only temporarily.

So how do I even try?
So what are the issues I see in mine ideas?

The main reoccuring issue I see in my ideas is lack of life. The characters feel like dead puppets moved by strings by the author (That's Me!). This is not issue when I am just thinking of concept, but later, when I try to do something with it. For the inception of ideas themselves, well, my greatest issue:

I just change my opinion of the concepts too quickly. I think I've thought of something great in the evening (or rather in late night lol), and then in the morning I feel that it's either stupid or cringe. (Maybe I need to accept the stupidity and just go all in?)
And this issue I don't have only when coming up with ideas, but all the time related to art, one time I think I've made something great and later, I hate the creation. (Thankfully more than not often I look at my past creations positivelly. Else I wouldn't made this page lol)

Another, now more fun thing, for some time every time I want to do magic, I end up with pseudo science ramblings about cosmology, and every time I want to technology, I end up either with the same, or more proper magic (lol).

Hopefully this time, the idea I currently have in my head, will stay, I will improve, and finally make something not nonsense. Something I can be satisfied with.

Anyways thanks for reading, and until next time, goodbye.
